Carl Dennis

(1927 – 2014)

Mr. Carl Dennis was a native of Coffee County, Enterprise, Alabama. He was born on January 1, 1927. He was a member of the Auburn First Baptist Church and a member of Friendship Sunday School Class for many years. He was a deacon of the Abbeville First Baptist Church for 15 years.

He served the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Dennis received both B.S. and M.S. degrees from Auburn University in 1950 and 1965. He worked with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System for 34 years. Previously, he had worked with Farmers’ Home Administration.

He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society as an undergraduate and a Life Member, a member of Collegiate Chapter of Future Farmers of America, a Life Member of Epsilon Sigma Phi Extension Honorary Fraternity, a Charter and Life Member of Agricultural Alumni Association of Auburn University, a Life Member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and a Life Member of Auburn University Alumni Association.

He is a former member of the Alabama Beekeepers Association, American Beekeeping Federation, Honorary member of Queen Breeders Association, and Emeritus Life Member of American Professional Agricultural Association. He received certificates, plaques, and other forms of recognition for services to clientele and professional associates in Alabama.

Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Mary Charles Price Dennis, son, Ronald Carl Dennis, and several nieces and nephews.

Alpha Pi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Phi honors and recognizes Mr. Carl Dennis by placing his name on the dedicatory plaque of the Memorial Chapel.
