Inez Y. Johnson

(1921 – 2013)

Inez Yancey Johnson was born in Ridge Grove, Alabama, on January 27, 1921, and passed away on October 15, 2012, at the age of 92. She lived in Chapman Healthcare Center in Alexander City at the time of her death.

Mrs. Johnson worked as a secretary at the Tallapoosa County Extension Service for 34 years. As someone who loved being around people, this was a perfect job for her. Even while employed, she was active in the community and at the Reeltown Baptist Church. She was described as being an excellent seamstress and cook and someone who enjoyed cooking for others.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, William Truett Johnson, and is survived by her children, Brenda and Bill; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Epsilon Sigma Phi honors Inez Yancey Johnson for her years of dedicated service to the residents of Tallapoosa County by placing her name on the dedicatory plaque of the Extension Memorial Chapel.
