(1954 – 2024)
On October 20, 2024, Melinda Jo Langford Luker won her fight with Alzheimer’s Disease. She shed her earth-torn body for her heavenly reward.
Melinda was a talented and loving woman. A graduate of Charles Henderson High School and Auburn University, she enjoyed her work with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
Her life was the embodiment of the 4-H pledge as she led children and young adults in Coosa County. Melinda loved working in the community. She organized and directed a leadership program for adults developing skills that bettered the area through their jobs and organizations.
Upon retirement from Extension, Melinda directed her attention to her ministry of quilting and sharing God’s word with others. Quilts that were made and gifted by Melinda were displayed at her funeral.
Melinda touched many lives before and during her battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She has left a legacy for others.
In recognition of her years of service, the name of Melinda L. Luker is inscribed on the dedicatory plaque of the Extension Memorial Chapel.
