Alabama 4-H Wall of Fame

Ronnie Lane

Lauderdale County Extension Agent

Inducted November 13, 2008

During the years he worked for the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Ronnie Lane touched the lives of countless 4-H’ers. He is a man of great character and a source of encouragement to 4-H’ers. He is giving of his time, and always helping in any way he can.

Former 4-H’ers recall that Lane spent many nights and weekends working with 4-H; he was always present at shows and always supportive.

He encouraged families to help 4-H’ers by becoming involved in market lamb and breeding sheep projects. He spent countless hours giving advice, answering questions, and being a resource for families.

Lane’s support of youth through their 4-H careers and into adulthood has influenced at least one to follow in his footsteps, becoming a county Extension agent.

Retired from Lauderdale County Extension, he continues to breed Simmental and Angus cattle on his farm in Florence.
